Make a short link with SiteStripe
SiteStripe is the bar Amazon shows at the top of product pages when you are signed in to your Associates account. Amazon's help center says Get Link: Text builds short and long links to the page you are viewing, with your Associate ID and tracking ID already included. It uses the last tracking ID you picked, and you can choose a different one before copying.
What Amazon says about other shorteners
Amazon's Associates program policies say you will not use a link shortening service, button, hyperlink or other ad placement in a way that makes it unclear you are linking to an Amazon site. The policies also bar cloaking or otherwise obscuring the URL of a site that contains your links.
In practice: if a link goes to Amazon, the person tapping it should be able to tell. Say "Amazon" next to the link, or use a product card that shows the retailer.
Use tracking IDs to see which platform sells
A short link tells you nothing about where the click came from. Amazon lets every Associates account create up to 100 tracking IDs under Manage your Tracking ID, and the Tracking ID Summary Report breaks earnings out by ID.
- 1
Create one tracking ID per platform, such as yourname-ig-20 and yourname-tt-20.
- 2
In SiteStripe, pick the matching tracking ID before you copy a link for that platform.
- 3
Check the Tracking ID Summary Report after a few weeks to see which platform earns.
Short links in an InfluShop store
InfluShop accepts amzn.to links and full Amazon links. Save your Amazon tag once in the affiliate settings and you can paste plain Amazon product URLs; InfluShop adds your tag. Every product also gets a short link at influshop.io/go/, with an automatic code on the free plan and a custom slug on Pro, and the card always shows that the product is from Amazon.
Share links can also carry a platform tag such as ?src=ig or ?src=tt, so InfluShop Pro's analytics split traffic by platform even when you use one Amazon tracking ID.
